Effie Sue Hindmon

Mrs. Effie Sue Hindmon, age 88, of Aragon, GA passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in the local nursing center.

She was born in Bartow County, GA on July 8, 1923 a daughter of the late Noel J. Gaston and Florence Edwards Gaston. Mrs. Hindmon had lived the greater part of her life in the Aragon area and was a member of the Rockmart Church of God. She was employed by the Rockmart-Aragon Hospital for over twenty years working as a nurses aid. Mrs. Hindmon was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Melvin Hindmon; by an infant daughter, Glenda Sue Hindmon; by a granddaughter, Lisa Hindmon; by a brother, Claude Gaston and by two sisters: Wilma Smith and Maude Tomlin.

Survivors include a daughter, Clara Inez Hindmon, Rockmart; a son, Hugh (Eddie) Hindmon and wife Beth, Aragon; granddaughter, Fran Smith and husband Bryan, Rockmart; two great grandchildren: Sean and Sara Smith, Rockmart; and two brothers: Jay Gaston, Canton and Ollie Gaston, Rockmart.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Delton Harne officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: James Thacker, Bryan Thacker, Michael Edwards, Mark Gaston, Ollie Gaston and Gary Lindsey.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
