Elizabeth Morgan

Mrs. Elizabeth Morgan, age 95,formerly of Tower Circle, Rockmart passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 in the local nursing center following an extended illness.


She was born in Haralson County, GA on January 18, 1914 a daughter of the late John Leonard Waldrop and Hulda Comella Adams Waldrop. Mrs. Morgan had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart and was a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ. She was a former employee of Sears Roebuck and Co.. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Morgan in 1971, by a son, Duane Morgan in 1973, two sisters: Audie Morris and Emmie Forsyth and by two brothers: L.E. Waldrop and J.V. Waldrop.


Survivors include three grandchildren: Angie Hembree and husband Clarence, Taylorsville, Debbie Griggs and husband Phil, Acworth and Tammy Johnson and husband Dewey, Appling,GA; three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Ministers Alvis Miller and Craig Hallman officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.


The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will include: Clarence Hembree, Daniel Hembree, Phil Griggs, Tony Barnes, Kenneth Moore and Dudley Waits.
