Mrs. Elizabeth “Liz” Putnal, age 77, of Aragon, GA, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Advent Health Redmond in Rome, GA. She was born in Atlanta, GA, on November 4, 1946, the only child of the late Remer White and the late Mary Ella Mitchell White.
She lived the early part of her life in Plant City, FL, where she graduated from Turkey Creek High School but for the past twenty-seven years had made Aragon, GA, home. She had many memories of the children she transported to and from school for eighteen years with the Polk School District as a school bus driver. Mrs. Putnal had a great love for and dedication to her Lord and Victory Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member of the choir. She enjoyed antique shopping, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother and she lovingly referred to Jerry, her husband, as her Honey Man.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Aubrey Clay.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Putnal, Sr., to whom she would have been married for 52 years on April 22nd; children, Jerry Putnal, Jr., Karen Hollon, Michele Tavlin (David), Lisa Willis (Clay), Corey Highsmith and Jennifer Clay (Kirt); fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 3:00 pm in the Victory Baptist Church with Reverends Barry Snapp and Clay Willis officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.
Mrs. Putnal will lie instate on Sunday from 2:00 pm until the funeral hour at the Victory Baptist Church.
Active pallbearers will include Dylan Hollon, Cody Hollon, Jarrod Highsmith, Curtis Reeves, David Sitzes, Evan Clay and Caleb Willis. Honorary pallbearers will include C.J. Ware, Kyle Putnal, James Anderson and Cole Putnal.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth “Liz” Putnal.
