Ellen Padgett

Mrs. Ellen Padgett, age 65, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at her residence.

Ellen was born in Aragon, GA on September 22, 1948 a daughter of William David “W.D.” Taylor and Lottie Mae Sorrells Taylor. She had lived most of her life in Polk County and was a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church. She loved to read and cross stitch. Prior to ill health she was employed by Tip Top Poultry as an inspector. Mrs. Padgett was preceded in death by her parents, by a brother, J.T. Taylor and by her husband, Stephen L. Campbell, Sr.

Survivors include two sons: Stephen L. Campbell, Jr., Rockmart and Barry Kyle Campbell, Marion, NC; four grandchildren: Jessica, Casey, Derek and Justin Campbell; one sister, Alice Evans, Rockmart; and two brothers: William R. Taylor and Rev. James L. Taylor both of Rockmart.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery with Rev. James Taylor officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Robert Godbee, Tony Barnes, Jeff Barnes, David Taylor, Michael Taylor and Ted Lee.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
