Elva Inez Fincher

Mrs. Elva Inez Jackson Fincher, age 95, of Cartersville and formerly of Rockmart passed away to her eternal home on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

She was born on May 10, 1920 a daughter of the late Benjamin F. Jackson, Sr. and Ophelia Rutledge Jackson. Mrs. Fincher was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Her strength and faith became very evident following the death of her husband, Newman Fincher; son, Jerry Newman Fincher; daughter, Barbara Newhouse and her first born grandson, Tony Newhouse. She was also preceded in death by brothers, B.F. Jackson, Jr. and Bloyce Jackson; and sisters, Juanita Jackson Harper and Marie Jackson Stewart.

She leaves behind a grandson, Raymond Newhouse and wife Nell of Adairsville; three granddaughters: Debra Newhouse Gray and husband Wendell of White, Kelly Fincher Rice and husband Joey of Calhoun and Marcie Newhouse Young of Adairsville; ten great grandchildren: Zach Choate, Jed Newhouse, Jake Newhouse, Logan Rice, Landon Rice, Cole Eley, Levi Newhouse, Ansley Jerauld and husband John, Brittany Young and Harley Young; two great great grandchildren: Addison Jerauld and Braiden Hightower; daughter in law, Marsha Fincher; granddaughter in law, Beverly Newhouse; sister in law, Annie Mae Jackson and nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Sunday, May 24, 2105 at 3:30 p.m. in Polk Memory Gardens, Cedartown with Rev. Lamar Guyton officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

Great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of her family members that have gone before her.
