Evelyn Waters Sanders Camp

Mrs. Evelyn Waters Sanders Camp, age 84, of 10 Lee Street, Rockmart passed away Monday, June 7, 2010 at her residence following a very brief illness.

She was born in Taylorsville, GA on October 28, 1925 a daughter of the late Derry Waters and Jessie Mae Sorrells Waters. Mrs. Camp had lived the greater part of her life in the Rockmart area, was a retired employee of the Murata Corporation and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Sanders, Jr. in August of 1957 and by her second husband, Rena Camp in March of 2008. Mrs. Camp was also preceded in death by three brothers: Ralph, J.B. and Herman Waters.

Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Linda Wheeler, Rockmart, Mrs. Dottie Shelton, Rockmart, Mrs. Peggy Watwood, Rome, Mrs. Brenda McAlister, Brevard, N.C. and Mrs. Patricia Ingram, Silver Creek; two sons: Mr. Wayne Sanders, Aragon and Mr. Ralph Sanders, Brookshire, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Helen Brewer, Rockmart; 23 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will include:Calvin Carroll, Michael Shelton, Kevin McAlister, Rodney Sanders, Todd Edwards, Dennis Shelton and Jimmy Sanders.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
