Faye Nelson

Mrs. Faye Nelson, age 71, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 in a Rome medical center.


She was born in Bartow County, GA on August 15, 1940 a daughter of the late Clarence Collum and Hannah Dover Collum. Mrs. Nelson was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and was of the Baptist faith. She retired in 1996 from Engineered Fabrics of Rockmart. Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dennis W. Nelson on June 18, 1996; by a brother, J.C. Collum and by two sisters: Willie Roe Branton and Glaydean Burkhalter.


Survivors include four daughters: Elaine Franklin and husband Barry, Cedartown, Teresa Brown and husband Bennie, Rockmart, Tammy Brock and husband Randy, Rockmart and Rhonda Cox and husband Bradd, Rockmart; one brother, Herbert Collum and wife Maggie, Silver Creek; six grandchildren: Kayla Garrett, Hannah Campbell, Christopher Brown, Barry Franklin,II, Kaley Gay and Michael Gay; two step grandchildren: Devon Cox and Faith Cox; two great grandchildren: Gage Campbell and Jenna Garrett.


The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Sisson officiating.


Pallbearers will include: Joseph Garrett, Matt Campbell, Barry Franklin, Bennie Brown, Randy Brock and Bradd Cox. Honorary pallbearers will include: Tim Yarbrough, Devon Cox, Christopher Brown, Michael Gay and Barry Franklin, II.
