Mrs. Florence Annie Bell Hardinger, age 83, of 90 Hutto Road, Cedartown, GA passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Polk Medical Center following several months of declining health.
She was born in Dekalb County, Alabama on July 8, 1924 a daughter of the late George W. Pope and Ruby Bell Twilley Pope. Mrs. Hardinger had been a resident of Polk County for the past twenty seven years moving here from Alabama. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church of Fort Payne, Alabama. Mrs. Hardinger had worked as a nurses aid in Fort Payne and retired from the Cedar Valley Nursing Home in Cedartown. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Hardinger in 1952.
Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Doris C. Cochren, Chattanooga, TN and Mrs. Maxine Owens, Cedartown; two sons: Mr. Bobby W. Hardinger, Cedartown and Mr. Tommy Hardinger, Simi Valley, California; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.(1:00 p.m. C.S.T.) in the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. James Coffman officiating.
Pallbearers will include: Kirk Owens, Sr., Kirk Owens, Jr., Zane Hardinger, James Starr, Wayne Purser, Russell Owens, Daryl Little, Charles Rayburn and Drew Hardinger.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence, 90 Hutto Road, Cedartown.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
