Mr. Freeman "Harold" Floyd, Sr., age 86, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Friday morning, November 10, 2023.
Harold was born in Rockmart, GA, on August 1, 1937, a son of the late Joe Floyd and Lois Waddle Floyd. He had lived all his life in Polk County and retired from Polk County Transportation Department. Harold was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fox hunting and rabbit hunting, especially the sound of his dogs running when they caught a scent.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Huggins Floyd, on February 14, 2009, whom he married November 26, 1957; a granddaughter, Amanda Floyd, and several siblings, including Betty Ledbetter, Joyce Nicholson, Melvin Floyd, Wendell Floyd, J.B. Floyd, and Marvin Floyd.
Harold is survived by three children, Ricky (Teresa) Floyd, Darlene Shelton, and Hal Floyd, Jr., all of Cedartown; three grandchildren, Rick Floyd, Kela Shelton, and Kyle Shelton; seven great-grandchildren, Cason Mann, Lynlee Smith, Trudi Ellis, Adyson Shelton, Caleb Shelton, Logan Shelton and Austyn Shelton; brother, Dennis Floyd; sister, Connie Ingram. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Harold will be Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Floyd, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
Harold’s family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
Pallbearers will include Logan Shelton, Kaleb Shelton, Kyle Shelton, Craig Brandon, Rick Floyd, and Brian Floyd.
