Gary Wayne Lindsey

Mr. Gary Wayne Lindsey, age 67, of Rockmart passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his residence following a sixteen month illness.

Gary was born in Rockmart, GA on February 10, 1948 a son of Henry D. Lindsey and Frances Edwards Lindsey. He had lived all of his life in Polk County and was a 1966 graduate of Cedartown High School. He also attended West Georgia College. Mr. Lindsey the former owner and operator of Lindsey Termite and Pest Control of Cedartown. He was a member and Deacon of the Victory Baptist Church and his passion was serving the Lord. Gary was also a classic car enthusiast.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Hughes.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Wingo Lindsey of Rockmart to whom he was married on June 8, 1969; three sons: Greg Lindsey, Athens, GA. Dustin Lindsey, Helen, GA and Jonathan Lindsey and wife Rebecca, Aragon; three grandchildren: Lauren Lindsey, Sam Lindsey and Ezra Lindsey; two sisters: Kay Miles and husband Ray, Rome and Janice York, Cedartown; one brother, David Lindsey, Bessemer, AL.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating and a eulogy given by a son Jonathan Lindsey. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include: Johnny Mooney, Mike Rutledge, Todd Stegall, D. B, Leatherwood, Rocklan Hughes and Van McKelvey. Honorary pallbearers will include: Tim Malone, Danny Bailey, Barry Jackson, Mac McNabb, Mike Bowden, Stevie Wingo, Joey Wingo and Danny Stanford.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made in Gary's memory to the Lasting Legacy Program of the Victory Baptist Church.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Gary Wayne Lindsey.
