Mrs. Geneva Grace Bailey, age 103, of Highway 101 North (The Yorkville Community), passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at her residence.
She was born in Polk County, GA on July 22, 1910 a daughter of the late John Alexander and Betty Kirk Alexander. Mrs. Bailey had lived all of her life in the Polk and Paulding County area and was a former employee of the Goodyear Mill with over thirty years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Bailey on December 25, 1945; a son, Wesley Edward Bailey; a daughter, Norma Lavon Bailey; two sisters; four brothers and a granddaughter.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Bailey Moody, Rockmart; son, Russell Bailey, Summerville, S.C.; three grandsons; one granddaughter; four great grandsons; two great granddaughters; and two great great granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Fennell officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Michael Moody, Terry Moody, Shane Moody, Todd Moody, Trent Moody and Jeff Alexander.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
