George Dover

Mr. George Dover, age 72, of Rockmart, GA passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in a Rome medical center.

He was born in Cobb County, GA on August 2, 1941. Mr. Dover had lived in Rockmart since 1990 and was a member of the Vanwert Baptist Church. He retired from Austell Boxboard Company with thirty two years of service. Mr. Dover was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Dean Arp Dover on May 6, 2013.

Survivors include three sons: Sam Arp, Aragon, David Arp and wife Kathy, Cedartown and Wayne Arp and wife Deidra, Rockmart; ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. James Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Whitt Dunn, Chip Gober and Dusty Cole.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
