George Isiah Earwood

Mr. George Isiah Earwood, age 85, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Advent Health Redmond surrounded by his loving family. 

George was born on April 20, 1939, in Taylorsville, GA. He was the son of the late Mr. Henry Earwood and Troy Mae Waits Earwood. Mr. Earwood retired from Meggitt after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Morning View Baptist Church and was a man of deep faith and love for his Lord and Savior. George was a proud member of the Georgia National Disaster Relief Program and enjoyed spending time farming and with his cows. Mr. Earwood loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Glenn Earwood and R.J. Earwood. 

George is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Peggy Diane Earwood; four daughters, Dona Childers, Deborah Cook, Linda Ewing and Tammy Hughes; one son, Tony McAlister; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mr. Earwood will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM in The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Hulsey and Rev. Billy Swift officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jason Cline, Tony McAlister, Britt Earwood, Greg Hughes, Randy Bishop and Bo Cline. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 12:00 noon until the service hour. 

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to Georgia National Disaster Relief Inc. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 625, Buchanan, GA. 30113.
