George Steven "Steve" Edwards

George Steven “Steve” Edwards, age 69, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023.

Steve was born in Macon, GA on August 9, 1954, a son of George Edwards and LaRue Moore Edwards. Steve lived most of his life in Macon before moving to Rockmart in the early 2000’s. He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, and playing softball. He loved spending time with his family but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandsons. He was a good father, grandfather (B-bop) and son. He believed in hardwork, honesty and loyalty. All those that knew him knew that you could always count on him. He was honest to a fault. He was preceded in death by his father, George Edwards.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Ashlie Murtha and her husband, Josh of McDonough, GA; two grandsons, Bradley and Matthew Murtha; mother, LaRue Babbitt of Byron, GA; sister, Teresa Edwards of Jacksonville, FL; and nephews Adam Golden, Noah Golden and Clay Hamlin.

In keeping with his wishes, Steve will be cremated, and no formal services are being scheduled at this time.
