Glenn L. Ledford

Mr. Glenn L. Ledford, age 85, of Cedartown, GA passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in a Rome medical center.

He was born in Polk County, GA on October 15, 1927 a son of the late Marlin A. Ledford and Alice Irene Jones Ledford. Mr. Ledford had lived all of his life in Polk County where he was a retired employee of the Goodyear Mill of Cedartown. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict and also served in the National Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenna Conniel Witherell on September 15, 2009, by two sisters: Elaine L. Brown and Martha Ann Ledford and by two brothers: Lowell Ledford and Jack Ledford.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Virginia Ledford, Cedartown; a son, Rex Ledford and his wife Connie of Cedartown; a sister, Brenda L. White and her husband Gerald, Rockmart; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Delton Harne and Rev. Chris Truitt officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion in charge of military graveside rites.

The Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

The family has requested that flowers please be omitted and memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Farm Widows Ministry, in care of North Rome Church of God, 1929 North Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161.
