Hattie Lou Austin

Hattie Lou Austin, age 86, of 133 Cason Road, Cedartown GA formerly of Rockmart passed away Monday, January 24, 2011 in a Rome Medical Center of a brief illness.


She was preceded in death by her parents D. B. Austin and Mollie Waters Austin, a brother John F. (Pat) Austin, and a sister Georgia Austin.


Hattie Lou is survived by her nephew Kirby Austin and his wife Cheryl of Madison, AL, niece Lynn Miller and her husband Steve of Rockmart, GA, and great nephews and great nieces.


Hattie Lou was a member of the Yorkville Baptist Church and worked for many years for Sears and the Paulding County Hospital. She had been retired for over 24 years. She also spent many years as a caregiver for all members of the family taking care of them while they were very ill during the last years of their lives.


Visitation will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m until 10:30 a.m..Graveside funeral and interment services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Yorkville Cemetery with Dr. Tony Weaver officiating and her nephew Kirby Austin delivering the eulogy.


In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Salvation Army.
