Herman Brand

Mr. Herman Brand, age 67, of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, April 10, 2015.

He was born in Cedartown, GA on July 30, 1947, a son of the late Herchel Brand and Lottie Garrett Brand. Mr. Brand had lived all of his life in Polk County. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Brand spent his working career in construction with Prince Construction. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brand was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Haney Brand; and two sisters: Jean Summerville and Margie Brand.

Survivors include his two daughters: Charmon Shelnutt, Cartersville, GA and Amanda Brand-Fuentes, San Antonio, TX; grandchildren: Brooke Shelnutt, Cartersville, Michael and Ashley Roney, San Antonio, Shane Roney, Montezuma, IA, Andrew Morrison, San Antonio, Austin Buffaloe, Cartersville and Collin Buffaloe, Cartersville; great grandchildren: K'Tice Shelnutt, Drayton Brand and Raycer Brand; brothers: Ray Brand, Johnny Lee Brand and Delane Brand; sisters: Linda Duke, Betty Waddell and Eva Waddell; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
