Herschel B. Hutcheson

Mr. Herschel B. Hutcheson, age 88, of Austell, GA passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

He was born in Cedartown, GA on March 16, 1925 a son of the late Robert Edward Hutcheson and Nancy Elizabeth Ingram Hutcheson. Mr. Hutcheson had lived in Austell for the past 42 years. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart and was a retired employee of the City of Atlanta. Mr. Hutcheson was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 36th Infantry Division during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Genevive Harrell Hutcheson on December 31, 2007 and by six brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include a son, Sam Hutcheson, Austell, GA; a granddaughter, Sandra Hutcheson and a great grandson, David Hutcheson both of Andrews, NC; and two sisters: Vera Murray and Ruth Kinney both of Rockmart.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyt Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery of Cedartown with Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion in charge of military rites.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
