Horace Junior Goddard

Mr. Horace Junior Goddard, age 76, of 112 Pearl Street, Rockmart passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at his residence following several months of illness.


He was born in Rome, GA on June 16, 1932 a son of the late John S. Goddard and Nettie Womack Goddard. Mr. Goddard had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart ,was of the Baptist faith and was a retired employee of the Polk County Road Department.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Hulsey Goddard, a son, Jimmy Raymond Goddard, grandson, Sammy Arp, brother, Harvey Goddard and sister, Shirley Chastain.


Survivors include a son, Danny Ray Goddard; daughter, Susan Goddard Mullins; grandson, Patrick Goddard; granddaughter, Kristy White; and two great grandchildren: Brandon White and Brooke White.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Dyer and Rev. Charles Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Patrick Goddard, Jason Williams, Alan Bowman, Charles Mack, Dewayne Koone and Chad Fortune.


The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
