Howard Wheeler

Mr. Howard Wheeler, age 61, of 96 Pine Mountain Road Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 following several years of declining health.


He was born in Polk County, GA on October 2, 1948 a son of Joseph Gordon (Joe) Wheeler and Mary Ella Pinkard Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler attended Rockmart High School and was a member of the Baptist Church. He retired in 2005 from the Lockheed-Martin Aircraft Corporation. Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his parents and by an infant sister Shelby Jean Wheeler.


Survivors include two daughters: Crystal Byars, Rome, GA and Shannon Wheeler, Loxley, AL; three brothers: Gordon Wheeler, Wayne Wheeler and Billy Wheeler all of Rockmart; four grandchildren also survive.


Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gary Studdard and Rev. James Coffman officiating.


Pallbearers will include: Rob Byars, Ted Wheeler, Joey Wheeler, Carl Wheeler, Michael Selby and David Lipham.


The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
