Hugh Edward (Eddie) Hindmon

Mr. Hugh Edward (Eddie) Hindmon, age 66, of Rockmart passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 following an extended illness.

He was born in Aragon, GA on November 7, 1949 a son of the late Hugh Melvin Hindmon and Effie Sue Gaston Hindmon. Eddie had lived all of his life in the Aragon and Rockmart area, was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church of Rome. He was a retired officer of the Georgia Department of Transportation Enforcement Division.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Beth Hogg Hindmon on March 7, 2014 and by a daughter Anna Lisa Hindmon on November 21, 1999.

Survivors include a daughter Fran Smith and her husband Bryan; three grandchildren: Sean, Sara and Shepherd Smith and a sister, Clara Inez Hindmon all of Rockmart.

In keeping with his wishes Mr. Hindmon was cremated. A gathering of close family and friends will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the residence of Fran and Bryan Smith, 1808 Calloway Path, Rockmart.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made in memory of Mr. Hindmon to the First Baptist Church of Rockmart, P.O. Box 388 Rockmart, GA. 30153.
