Inez Wheeler Walker

Mrs. Inez Wheeler Walker, age 85, of 1221 Bellview Road Rockmart passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 at her residence following several years of declining health.


She was born in Polk County, GA on December 28, 1923 a daughter of the late Virgil Newton Wheeler and Mary Ola Huff Wheeler. Mrs. Walker had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County where she was a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ and a retired employee of the Goodyear Mill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas A.(Frog) Walker on October 17, 1991; by three sisters: Pluma Robinson, Ola Haynie and Edna Suddeth and five brothers:William Wheeler, James Wheeler , Joseph Wheeler, G. W. Wheeler and Albert Wheeler.


Survivors include two sisters: Mrs. Lois Duke and Mrs. Ruby Carter both of Rockmart. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Ministers Alvis Miller and Craig Hallman officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Frank Lipham, David Lipham, Corey Lipham, Casey Blackmon, Jerry Carter and Mike Carter.


The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
