Ivanell Nettles

Mrs. Ivanell Arp Nettles, age 87, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

Mrs. Nettles was born on February 17, 1934 in Aragon, GA, to her parents: Robert “Bob” Arp Sr. and Stella Gribble Arp. Ivanell lived all her life in Rockmart, GA. She had attended Aragon School and then Rockmart High School. Mrs. Nettles loved quilting, crocheting, needle point, playing the piano and the organ and was known to be the queen of all yard sales. Ivanell was a faithful member of New Prospect Baptist Church and had owned and operated Ivanells Shop for Beauty for many years. Mrs. Nettles was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nettles was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Arp Nickles and 3 brothers: Edward Arp, Horace Arp and R.B. Arp Jr.

Mrs. Nettles is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, James Nettles, sons: Marty Nettles and Derrick Nettles (Kim), grandson: Zack Nettles (Raven), sister, Helen Fippin and sisters-in-law: Ann Arp and Ovaline Arp. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Nettles will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM in The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Purser officiating. Interment will follow the service at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Aaron Nickles, Randy Arp, Trey Arp ,Zack Nettles, Wesley Arp and Brandon Arp.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 12:00 PM until the service hour at 2:00 PM.
