Jack (Michael) Woods

Mr. Jack (Michael) Woods, age 67, of Hampton Road Cedartown, GA passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at his residence following several months of illness.

He was born in Miami Beach, FL on August 18, 1945 a son of Jack Woods and Lorraine Smiley Woods. Mr. Woods had been a resident of Polk County for the past seventeen years moving here from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was a Christian , a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Brewster-Cleveland Post 86 of the American Legion. Mr. Woods retired in 1995 having worked as a sprinkler fitter for Local 821. He was preceded in death by a sister Jane Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Woods of Cedartown to whom he was married on July 25, 1986; five children: Tharon Woods, Palm Beach, FL, Jack Woods, Columbia SC, Mizpha Ankarstran, Raleigh, NC, Brent Woods, Connersville, IN and Syana Jenkins, Cedartown; two step sons: Raymond Dennison, Fairfax, VA and Jarrett Dennison, Cape Coral, FL; sister, Rosemary Foreman of Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
