James Elmer "Jimmy" Bell

Mr. James Elmer “Jimmy” Bell, age 81, of Cedartown, GA passed away Friday, June 21, 2024.

Mr. Bell was born in Rome, GA on June 12, 1943, a son of the late Elmer Earl Bell and the late Mertice Clines Bell. Lindale, GA was home for Jimmy for forty-seven years before moving to Cedartown in 1990. Jimmy was a former employee of JL Lester & Son which later became EBY Brown where he retired after forty-five years of service. After retirement he did custodial work at Second Baptist Church in Cedartown for several years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Jimmy had a love for University of Georgia Football and enjoyed watching TV. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma Henry and Patty Swanson.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Rose Bell; three stepchildren, Danny Jones and his wife, Karen, Brenda Stegall, and Tracy Kines and her husband, Blake; six grandchildren, Danielle Gault, Chris Williams, Dana Rampley, Jessica Zahler, Tyler Hutcheson, and Tori Bates; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Stevens; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Bell will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Clinton Green officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with military graveside rites provided by Brown-Wright Post #12 American Legion Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will include Joel Swanson, Tommy Swanson, Jamie Gault, Blake Kines, Danny Jones, and Anthony Cromer.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
