James Jackson "Jim" Buffaloe

Mr. James Jackson “Jim” Buffaloe, age 84, of Americus, GA, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

Mr. Buffaloe was born in Willow Springs, NC, on December 12, 1940, a son of the late David Buffaloe and Louise Fish Buffaloe. He had spent his childhood years in North Carolina and the greater part of his life in Americus, GA. Mr. Buffaloe was a graduate of North Carolina State University and was a cattle farmer. Prior to his retirement, he was a plant manager with International Minerals and Chemical Company. Mr. Buffaloe was a member of the Americus First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and was a former Sunday School teacher. He loved numbers and enjoyed day trading on the stock market.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Buffaloe was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Buffaloe Stallings, a sister, Betty Ipock, and a brother, Donald Buffaloe.

Mr. Buffaloe is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Patricia Nesbitt Buffaloe, whom he married on May 11, 1963; daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Moss; son, James Todd Buffaloe; four grandchildren, Jennie Lynn Womack, Jamie Ann (Kyle) Duran, Jackson Buffaloe, and George Buffaloe; six great-grandchildren, Easton Womack, Hunter Womack, Parker Womack, Peyton Womack, Macklin Duran, and Madeline Duran; sister, Nancy (Jim) Turner; brother, Tom (Kay) Buffaloe. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Buffaloe will be cremated, and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Americus First Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in memory of Mr. Buffaloe to The First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund, 125 South Jackson Street, Americus, GA, 31709.
