James Eddie Fincher

Mr. James Eddie Fincher, age 62, of Gin Road Cedartown (the Fish Creek community) passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on April 3, 1953, a son of William E. Fincher and Frances Bollen Fincher. Eddie attended Rockmart High School and was a former employee of Polk County Public Services. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Eddie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and rabbit hunting. He was preceded in death by his father on November 20, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Fincher of Cedartown to whom he was married in 1979; two sons: Buddy Fincher, Rockmart and Shane Fincher, Aragon; two daughters: Amanda Fincher, Cedartown and Lisa Bailey, Rockmart; five grandchildren: Brandon Fincher, Blake Fincher, Taylor Fincher, Cody Fincher and Courtney Fincher; mother, Frances Fincher, Cedartown: three brothers: Edward Fincher, Buchanan, Jimmy Fincher, Cedartown and Randy Fincher, Cedartown; four sisters: Sybil Ploof, Buchanan, Denise Lemon, Temple, Velvet Smith, Buchanan and Edna Morgan, Thomasville, AL; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Dyer and Rev. Synard Bradford officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Brandon Fincher, Blake Fincher, Cody Fincher, Edward Fincher, Dale Bailey and Sammy Smith.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
