James Jerry Fuqua

Mr. James Jerry Fuqua, age 70, of Rockmart, GA passed away peacefully during his sleep Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at his residence.

He was born in Taylorsville, GA on July 2, 1946, a son of the late James Edgar Fuqua and the late Gladys Waters Fuqua. Mr. Fuqua was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Aragon United Methodist Church and was a very caring and giving person. He attended the University of Georgia School of Banking and worked as a Vice President of Operations for the Rockmart Bank. Mr. Fuqua formerly owned the Rockmart Tax Service and for the past twenty years owned and operated PrimeCare Nursing Services, Inc.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Johnson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Tillery Fuqua of Rockmart, to whom he was married on July 19, 1969; two daughters: Natasha Fields and her husband Ryan, Aragon and Deidra Fuqua, Aragon; five grandchildren: Haley Thompson, Shelby Waits, Drew Waits, Tori Roberts and Sydney Roberts; sister, Cindy Mason, Rockmart; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Aragon United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Collum and Rev. James Hannah officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 AM until the memorial hour at the Aragon United Methodist Church.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers please be omitted and donations be made in his memory to the Aragon United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 183, Aragon, GA 30104.
