James T. "Jimmy" Posey

Mr. James T. "Jimmy" Posey, age 69, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at his residence.

He was born In Gadsden, AL on December 21, 1951 a son of Beatrice Witcher Posey and the late Rudolph Huel Posey, Sr.. Mr. Posey had lived the greater part of his life in Atlanta before moving to Rockmart. He was a "tough old bird" according to his family. Mr. Posey worked for Mac's Bakery in Rockmart for over twenty years.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph H. "Rudy" Posey, Jr.

Survivors include his mother, Beatrice Posey; five brothers and sisters: Joseph Posey, Judy Pitts, Shirley Docimo, Robert Posey and Wanda Haney; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 12 noon in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Rudy Posey and Rev. Chris Posey officiating. Interment will follow in the Poseyville Methodist Church Cemetery, Bremen.

Pallbearers will include: Louis Smith, John Barclay, Shane Barclay, Justine Barclay, Bobby Posey and Josh Posey.

Mr. Posey will be taken to his residence, 2500 Morgan Valley Road Rockmart Monday morning where the family will receive friends until Wednesday morning, at which time he will be returned to the funeral home for the funeral service.
