James Thomas Brookshire

Mr. James Thomas Brookshire, age 72, of 137 Cliff Nelson Road, Euharlee, GA passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010 at his residence following an illness of six months.

He was born in Cedartown, GA on September 19, 1937 a son of the late Arthur Brookshire and Toni Wallace Brookshire. Mr. Brookshire was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force serving our country for eighteen years. He served with the military police and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Mr. Brookshire was a retired truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Bobbi Gail Grace and by a brother Edward Brookshire.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Shelby Jean Brookshire of Euharlee to whom he was married on February 17, 1958; two sons: Mr. Charles Thomas Brookshire, Rockmart and Mr. James Michael Brookshire, Euharlee; three sisters: Mrs. Edna Nix, Athens, GA, Mrs. Shirley Gibbs of Tennessee and Mrs. Ruth Wade, Rockmart; one brother, Mr. Ray Brookshire; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Garrett officiating.
