James W. Clemons

Mr. James W. Clemons, age 81, of Aragon, GA passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 in a Rome medical center.

He was born in Haralson County, GA on December 4, 1932 the son of Willie Clemons and Bertha Mae Swann Clemons. Mr. Clemons had lived all of his life in Polk County where he was a member of the Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church. He retired from the Goodyear Mill of Rockmart with 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Ann Clemons on June 5, 2001 and by two sisters Wilma Davis and Betty Kinney.

Survivors include sons, Donnie Clemons, Charlotte, NC, Wayne Clemons, Rockmart, David Clemons, Cumming , Kenny Clemons, Panama City, FL and a grandson raised as a son, Blake Moates; one sister, Margie Millican, Rockmart; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Hooper and Rev. Gary Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Grandsons serving as pallbearers will include: Tim Clemons, Little Wade Clemons, Jeremy Clemons, Justin Clemons, Wade Clemons, Keith Clemons and Blake Moates. Granddaughters Jennifer Norman, Bridget Birmingham and Stephanie Heard will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
