J.B. Williams

Mr. J.B. Williams, age 84, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021.

Mr. Williams was born in Cedartown, GA on February 21, 1937, a son of the late Lewis Williams and the late Epsie Buchanan Williams. J.B. had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was a member of Liberty Holiness Church in Taylorsville. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. J.B. enjoyed wood working and he was retired from the Marietta Housing Authority where he served as an inspector. He had also worked for Cedartown Housing Authority and Chattanooga Housing Authority.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, Anna Louise Williams, Brenda Williams and Gail Marie Holcomb; and step-children: Ray Davis and Randy Davis.

Survivors include his children: Johnnie Lewis Williams, Barry Neil Williams, Sandra Dorene Williams, Kathy Teresa Williams and Michael Houser; step-children: Donnie Bowman, Bruce Bowman and Dennis Davis; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and sister; Rebecca Hardy.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Brown-Wright Post # 12 American Legion Honor Guard providing military graveside rites.

Pallbearers will include: John Williams, Alex Williams, Jerry Allen, Chris Hardy, Jesse Yoder and Clinton Burnett.

The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for Mr. J.B. Williams.
