Jean Massey

Mrs. Eugenia Arlene (Jean) Massey, age 89, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 in a Rome medical center following a brief illness.

She was born in Rockmart, GA on November 4, 1926 a daughter of Joseph Edwin Dean and Arnice Copeland Dean. Mrs. Massey had lived all of her life in Rockmart and was a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ. She retired from the Smith-Lockwood Drug Company following thirty years of employment.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Dean in 1942 and by her husband, Charles T. Massey in 2005.

Survivors include her son, Fedrick T. Massey and his wife Dorethea of Naples, Florida and a granddaughter, Kasandra Leigh Massey also of Naples, Florida.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Minister Josh Clevenger officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Kenneth Moore, Wendell Abernathy, Robert Lawhon and Larry Waters.

The family will receive friends Monday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Rockmart Church of Christ Food Pantry, 201 Slate Street Rockmart, GA 30153in her memory.
