Jeanna Dunn Gay

Mrs. Jeanna Dunn Gay, age 75, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. Gay was born in Rome, GA, on January 27, 1949, a daughter of the late John Dunn and Louise Whitfield Dunn. She had lived all her life in Rockmart and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Gay was the co-owner with her brother, Whit, of Dunn’s Quick Stop for over 40 years. She enjoyed reading and traveling. Her greatest thrills came while spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling them.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gay was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Baker.

Mrs. Gay is survived by a daughter, Shelley (Jason) Ponder; son, Kevin Gay; four grandchildren, Madison (James) Nussbaumer, Kaley (Tristan) Adams, Christian Ponder, and Michael Gay; two brothers, Freddy (Pam) Dunn, and Whit (Joyce) Dunn. Three great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gay will be held on Sunday afternoon, January 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Gay’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Christian Ponder, Michael Gay, James Nussbaumer, Tristan Adams, Tim Barber, and Lee Tenney.
