Jennifer Jo Gipson

Jennifer Jo Newman Gipson, age 49, of Taylorsville, GA, formerly of Olive Hill, KY, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023, at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Jennifer was born July 17, 1974, in Bucyrus, OH, to Ida and Eddie Newman, also of Taylorsville.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Artis and Maxine McGlone, paternal grandfather, Raymond Newman of Olive Hill. 

Jennifer could easily be described as loving, kind, caring and a caretaker of many. She loved her family and friends deeply. Jennifer loved her husband, “Peanut”, immensely and spent every minute she could with him. Jennifer’s light of her life was her grandson, Vincent, who she loved with all her heart; she dedicated her life to being a big part of his life.

In addition to her grandparents, she was preceded in death by Uncles, Hobert McGlone, Allen Tabor, Bud Reisinger, Robert Lewis, Greg Henderson and Craig Gustin. 

Jennifer is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, David “Peanut” Gipson, sons, Aaron (Lynn) Edwards, and Chad (Courtney) Gipson; daughter, Kristona (Brandon) Cole; grandson, Vincent “Pooh” Gipson, raising as her son; granddaughter, Ella May Gipson, all of Georgia; one brother, Jonathan (Kayla) Newman and twin nephews, Case & Wade, of Cartersville, GA; one sister, Leah Diane Tabor, of Macon, GA; grandmother, Charlene Newman of Grayson, KY; aunts, Josephine (Robert) McGlone of Waverly, OH, Edna Lewis of Tolesboro, KY, Leah Gustin of Beaver, OH, Sue Tabor of Alabama, Vicky Henderson and Diane Rodgers of Olive Hill; uncles, B.J. McGlone and Ricky Newman (Barbie) of Olive Hill; special great-aunt and uncle, Bill and Jo Stamper of Mansfield, OH, along with many other cousins, family and friends who deeply mourn her loss.

Funeral services for Jennifer will be Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Duvall & Moore Funeral Home, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY, at 1:00 p.m.   Jennifer’s father, Mr. Eddie Newman, will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in McGlone Family Cemetery in Olive Hill.   The family will receive friends at Duvall & Moore Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.

Jennifer’s family will receive friends Thursday evening, December 14, 2023, at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to a memorial fund at Family Savings Bank.
