Jimmy Donald Wilkerson

Mr. Jimmy Donald Wilkerson, age 61 of Aragon, GA passed away Monday April 13, 2015 in a Rome medical center following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on August 17, 1953 a son of the late Donald James Wilkerson and Evelyn Odell Yarbrough Wilkerson. Jimmy had lived all of his life in Polk County where he was a member of the Aragon Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Diamond Mills of Aragon and retired from the Kelloggs Plant in Rome, GA. Jimmy loved to golf and bowl. He also had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Turner Wilkerson of Aragon to whom he was married on February 2, 1974; one son, Danny Dewayne Wilkerson, Aragon; two granddaughters: Raven Wilkerson and Nicole Wilkerson both of Aragon; two sisters: Janice Ann Hayes, Rockmart and Dolly Rose Robinson of North Carolina; one brother, Danny Lee "Blue" Wilkerson, Rockmart; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with his brother in law Lamar Hayes officiating and the Twenty Third Psalm read by a sister in law Glenda Vaughn. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Dewayne Scoggins, Dwight Beck, Stevie Pinkard, Mike Rogers, Michael Turner and Shannon Hayes

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the funeral service at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
