Mr. Jimmy Dupree, age 65, of 206 Howard Street, Rockmart passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at his residence.
He was born in Prospect, Tennessee on May 21, 1945 a son of the late James B. Dupree and Bonnie Curry Dupree. Mr. Dupree had been a resident of Rockmart for the past 26 years. He had worked as a self employed painting contractor for 48 years. Mr. Dupree was a member of the Morning View Baptist Church and had been involved with Prison Ministry since 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Dupree of Rockmart to whom he was married in 1989; one daughter, Delane Dupree, Wedowee, AL; one son, Dale Dupree, Carrollton, GA; one step daughter, Tina McCarley, Summerville, SC; one step son, Marshall Dutton, Allgood, TN; two sisters: Gail Leggett and Hettie Sapree both of Hiram, GA; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyt Lewis, Rev. Jeff Hulsey and Rev. Gwendell Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will include: Ricky Hulsey, Donald Lester, Thomas Lester, Greg Rainey, Matt Garrett, Johnny Garrett, Tim Garrett and Junior Thomason. Honorary pallbearers will include: Doug Rayburn and Dennis Atkins.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
