Mrs. Joan Blondell Freeman, age 66, of Aragon, GA passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her residence following a three month illness.
She was born in Rome, GA on February 27, 1946 a daughter of the late Thomas Arthur White and Ophelia Owens White. Mrs. Freeman had been a resident of Aragon since 1990. She was a former Councilwoman for the City of Aragon. Mrs. Freeman had been an active volunteer of the Rockmart Little League Program serving for a period of ten years in the Senior League Division. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Lance Freeman of Aragon to whom she was married on October 15, 1971; four children: Teresa Lynn Gamble and husband Maurice of Soldotna, Alaska, Tabby Garrett and husband Bobby of Aragon, Jason Freeman and wife Misti of Rockmart and Blainey Freeman and wife Patricia of Aragon; one sister, Nancy Brannon of Piedmont, AL; nine grandchildren and two great granddaughters; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Hills Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Bobby Garrett, Dutch Copelan, Will Copelan, Shane Guttery, Maurice Gamble and Chris McEwen.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Joan Blondell Freeman.
