Mrs. Joan Margaret Clower, age 82, of Cedartown, GA passed away Monday, April 27, 2020.
She was born in Rockmart, GA on October 4, 1937, a daughter of the late Carl Robert Purser and the late Theodosia Elzeda Tanner Purser. Mrs. Clower spent her childhood in Rockmart but had lived some of her adult life in Atlanta, Smyrna and Dallas before returning back to Rockmart in 1979. She was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church. Mrs. Clower enjoyed listening to Swap Shop and she was a former volunteer at the Clothes Bin Thrift Shop in Dallas. She enjoyed being outside working in her yard and had a great love for Gospel Music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Thomas Clower in 1981; sister, Shirley Robinson; and three brothers: Clyde, Jack and Steve Purser.
Survivors include her husband of sixty four years, Tommy Clower of Cedartown, to whom she was married on June 24, 1955; daughter, Becky Tucker and her husband, Rev. Danny Tucker, Cedartown; two sons: Barry Clower and his wife, Kelly, Greensboro, GA, and Joel Clower and his wife Kim, Cedartown; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with local, state and federal guidelines graveside funeral and interment services will be private in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, April 30, 2020 with Rev. Mark Purser and Rev. Danny Tucker officiating. Her son, Mr. Barry Clower will deliver the eulogy.
The family will have a public memorial service after restrictions are lifted.
Pallbearers will include: Kody Holder, Kole Holder, Cal James, Trent Lane, and Walt Griffin.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Joan Margaret Clower.
