Joann Williams

Mrs. JoAnn Jackson Williams, age 77, of Aragon, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011 at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Summerville, GA on September 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Avery Hope Jackson and the late Amanda Minton Jackson. Mrs. Williams had lived to greater part of her life in Aragon and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Bundy Tubing of Cartersville and had been a former employee of the Rockmart Aragon Hospital. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Neal (Pickle) Williams; brother, James Jackson and her sister, Louise Elliott.


Survivors include her daughter, Jill Robinson and husband Tony, Aragon; son, Mark Neal Williams, Rockmart; three grandchildren: Ann Marie Robinson, Jason Williams and Amanda Williams Beatty; two great grandchildren: Maci Beatty and Avery Beatty; two sisters: Edna Brumbelow, Atlanta and Charlotte Rayburn, Kennesaw; brother, Clifford (Sonny) Jackson, Atlanta; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Tony Weaver and Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: David Pittman, Brad Miller, Jimmy Miller, Kyle Miller, Guy Davenport, Jr., Clay Beatty and Avery Beatty.


The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. JoAnn Jackson Williams.
