Joe Lovelace

Mr. Joe Lovelace, age 50, of Taylorsville, GA passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Redmond Regional Medical Center, Rome, GA following a very brief illness.


Joe was born in Sylvester, Ga on March 4, 1959. He was a graduate of Cross Keys High School in 1978 and had lived in Lawrenceville as well as Mobile, AL before locating to Rockmart in December of 2004. He had been an employee of Gerdau Ameristeel of Cartersville for the past four and a half years.


He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laurie Lovelace of Taylorsville to whom he was married on December 22, 2005; five children: Brandon Lovelace, Lilburn, Ashley Manning, Yulee, FL, Chris Jackson, Winder, GA, Gerald Jackson, Lawrenceville and Senior Airman Gary Jackson, McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey; father and step mother, Joseph and Rose Lovelace, State Line, Mississippi; brother, John Howard Lovelace, Mobile, AL ; step brother, Shannon Brister, Loganville and five grandchildren also survive.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Larry Wallace, Skip Baker, Mike Culver, Tim Lewis, Larry Boyd and Jerry Addison.


The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
