Joe Rother

November 30, 1941 — February 7, 2022

Mr. Joe Rother, age 80, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022.

Joe was the 10th of 13 children born to Augusta and Joe Rother on a farm in Okarche, Okla. Joe graduated from Holy Trinity High School, joined the U S Army and when he returned home, enrolled in college at Oklahoma State. Joe graduated in 1968 with a degree in Ag/Forestry.

Joe chose to go to Kentucky, and worked for a length of time. From there he went to Georgia and landed in Cedartown where he ran a cow/calf operation with the help of his two sons, Ashton and Adam.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his sons: Ashton and Adam Rother; three sisters: Bernadette Stangl, Katherine Landoll and Trudy Kroutil; brother, Leo Rother; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe will be buried next to the love of his life, Mildred Manning in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Dallas, GA. with Father Adrian Pleus officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Rockmart with Brown-Wright Post #12 American Legion Honor Guard providing military graveside rites.

Pallbearers will include: Michael Smith, Jamie Addison, Ricky Sorrells, Jonathan Gable, Cody Wesson and Cameron Wesson.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Joe loved the Farm, his cattle and the freedom of this great country. He treasured his family and friends, and we as family are grateful to his many friends for their support during his illness.
