John "John Boy" Deems

John “John Boy” Deems, age 49, of Aragon, GA, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025.

John Boy was born in Rome, GA, on November 16, 1975, son of Jerry Wayne Deems, Sr. and Linda Brown Deems. He had lived all his life in Aragon and was a member of Seney Baptist Church. John Boy was a self-employed landscaper who enjoyed his work, loved cutting firewood, and loved his Rebel flag. He also loved his cat roommate, Fat Cat.

John Boy is survived by his parents, Jerry Wayne and Linda Deems; brother, Jerry Wayne Deems, Jr. sister, Faye (Chad) Floyd; nieces and nephews, Amanda and Jarrod Daniel, Jerry and Charity Floyd, and Heather and Joe Kellog, and Haleigh Deems; great-nieces and nephews, Ashton and Amelia Daniel. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for John Boy will be held on Wednesday afternoon, January 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Deems and Rev. Chris Cabe officiating.

John Boy’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour.
