John Dennis Cantrell

Mr. John Dennis ?J.D.? Cantrell, age 67, of 1885 Old Collard Valley Road, Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 at his residence following a lengthy illness.


He was born in Paulding County on March 30, 1940 a son of the late John Mark Cantrell and Effie Mae Jones Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell moved to Polk County in 1972 from Dallas, GA. He was a retired security officer with Burns International. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mr. James Cantrell in 1992 and by his sister, Mrs. Dora Monica in 1971. Mr. Cantrell was a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church.


Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Judy S. Cantrell of Rockmart to whom he was married on November 1, 1968; one daughter, Mrs. Danice Nale and her husband Robert of Rockmart; one brother, Mr. William Charlie Cantrell of Dallas; four sisters: Mrs. Edith Ruff of Cartersville, Mrs. Annie Turner of Dallas, Mrs. Ethel Yourn of Dallas, and Mrs. Sue Keith of Cartersville. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Anthony and Briana Nale of Rockmart.


Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 19th at 4:oo p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Moore officiating. Interment followed in the Aragon Cemetery.


Pallbearers included: Allen Williams, Ken Cantrell, James Loveless, Donnie Burnley, David Burnley, and Anthony Nale.
