John William (Bill) Hartline

John William Hartline finished his race on October 27, 2011 and fell into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Bill was born in Rome, Georgia on July 9th, 1933, where he went to Model High School, graduating in 1952 and marrying his High School sweetheart, JoAnne Stewart, on December 28th, 1954. After serving with the United States Navy, he began preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ for 54 years in Georgia and Tennessee.

Bill was a dedicated servant of the Lord, who felt his mission in life was to convert souls to Jesus and to help all of those he met to be faithful servants of God.

He is survived by his wife JoAnne Hartline of 57 years and their three children and spouses Jeff and Melodie Hartline, Craig and Mary Pat Hartline and Rachel and Keith LeSuer as well as four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and his sister June Hartline Stansell.

He is preceded in death by three children Susan Leigh, Leigh Ann and Rachel Kay, his parents, Robert and Bonnie Hartline and his three brothers; Alfred Hartline, Herbert Hartline and Guy Hartline.

There will be a family visitation on Sunday, October 30th at Granny White Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Services will be held at Oak Hill Church of Christ in Rome, Georgia on Tuesday, November 1st, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens in Rome, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Georgia Agape in the name of John William Hartline.
