Joyce Harrell Hulsey

Mrs. Joyce Harrell Hulsey, age 72, of Rockmart, GA passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Cedartown, GA on June 9, 1944, a twin daughter of Herman David Harrell and Eva Ray Harrell. Mrs. Hulsey had lived all of her life in Rockmart where she was a member of the Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the Arrow Shirt Factory in Buchanan, GA followed by her longtime employment at the Goodyear Mill and its change of ownership to Loral and Engineered Fabrics Corporation. Mrs. Hulsey loved to sing and dance and spend time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Joan Willis, sisters Lucy Thurreson and Janice Westbrooks and brother, Johnny Harrell.

Survivors include her children: David Mixon (Anna), Rockmart, Cindy Chastain (Phillip), Rockmart and Jacob Hulsey (Wendi), Rockmart; six grandchildren: Brantly Mixon, Madison Hulsey, Neyland Hulsey, Sidney Sorrells, Alisha Hood and Erika Wilson; four great grandchildren; special niece and caregiver, Wendy Wallace (Chris) and their daughter Autumn Wallace; sister, Ruby Nell Hicks, Kennesaw and brother, Terry Harrell (Diane), Cedartown; a host of nieces and nephews and special friends: Norma Wilkes and Robert (Bob) Thompson also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Bray officiating and Bill Hicks delivering a eulogy. Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Joey Davidson officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Brantly Mixon, Robbie Wilkes, Ken Wilkes, John Paschal, Matt Paschal and Tony Davidson. Neyland Hulsey and Kaleb Lindsey will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 pm at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
