Joyce J. Folsom

Mrs. Joyce J. Folsom, age 73, of Lindale, Georgia, passed away on January 19, 2017 at a local healthcare facility surrounded by her family.

A native of Bartow County, GA, Mrs. Folsom was born on April 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Owens R. and Ida Cline Forsyth. She was a long time member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and for many years was employed as a clerk with Piggly-Wiggly of Lindale.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Houston Forsyth in 1995, by a daughter-in-law, Judy Ann Folsom in 2002 and recently by a great-granddaughter, Kimber Catherine Bishop in December 2016.

She was married on August 26, 1962 to Curtis Tyson Folsom, Sr. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Curtis T. Folsom, Sr. Her children; J. Bryan & Shari Folsom, Leigh-Ann and Bryan Cox, Kristi and Jimmy Keithley, and Ty and Connie Folsom. One sister, Patsy and Jim Roberts. Nine grandchildren, Brooke Brown, Beth Folsom, Drew Cox, Matthew Cox, Lindsey, Megan, Natalie, Rachel and Jimmy Keithley, III. Four great-grandchildren, Janell, Greyson, Adilyn, and Noah.

Funeral services for Mrs. Folsom will be conducted on Tuesday,January 24, 2017 at 3 p.m. from the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with her son-in-law, Rev. Bryan Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot of the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 1p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.

Pallbearers will include Trevor Roberts, Austin Roberts, Jimmy Keithley, Jr., Drew and Matthew Cox, and Jimmy Keithley, III..

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38018.
