Joyce Richards Jones

Mrs. Joyce Richards Jones, age 69, of Rockmart, GA passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Cedartown.

She was born on December 5, 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Glen Richards and Mary Smith Richards. She spent her childhood years in Ravenna Ohio and moved to Rockmart in 1975. Mrs. Jones had worked with Dr. Cummings and Dr. Atha as a nurse and was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Bryce and a brother, Darrell Richards.

Survivors include her husband, David A. Jones to whom she was married on March 5, 1966; son, Mark Jones, Rome; daughter, Dana Courtney, Chattanooga; three grandchildren and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Reginald Campbell officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until the service hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
