Judith M. "Judy" Manis

Judith M. “Judy” Manis, 76, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on November 10, 2020. She was born on May 17, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Andrew W. and Dora M. (Athy) Burnell. She previously worked as an NA at Altenheim Senior Living in Indianapolis, and as a florist at a Winn Dixie in Georgia.

Judy was a Christian and the way she lived her life reflected her christian beliefs. She enjoyed gardening and many a friend and neighbor enjoyed the beauty of her gardens through the years. She loved all animals, including many dogs, cats and birds she cared for throughout her life. She loved Elvis and saw him perform on numerous occasions, including in Las Vegas, and was thrilled to have received a kiss and a scarf from him at a performance. Her Elvis albums were one of her most prized possessions. Judy also enjoyed looking at old family pictures, memorabilia, and sharing family history and lore with the younger generation.

Judy will be remembered by her loving husband, Jack A. Manis; foster daughter, Angela; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by many neighbors and friends, including Darleen and Dwayne Pruitt and their son, Ricky.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wally, Raymond and Johnny Burnell; step daughter, Stephanie Bradshaw; sisters in law, Dorothy and Libby Burnell; and her beloved bird, Sam.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN.

Judy will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory. Memorial contributions may be made to The Johnson County Society.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of local arrangements.
