Judy McCown Roberson

Mrs. Judy McCown Roberson, age 80, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 31, 2024, at her residence.

Mrs. Roberson was born in Rockmart on February 13, 1944, daughter of the late James McCown and Elsie Mae Thomason McCown. She had lived all her life in Rockmart, was a graduate of Rockmart High School and was a member of Morning View Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberson was a cosmetologist and beautician who enjoyed working with people. She had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren and that one special great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roberson was preceded in death by her first husband, Jackie Cleveland, and second husband, Jackie Roberson. A brother, Benny Joe McCown, and a brother-in-law, Billy Fincher, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Roberson is survived by a son, Donald (Peaches) Cleveland; grandchildren, Amanda (Steven) Stokes, Lindsey Cleveland, and Lexie Cleveland; great-grandson, Waylon Cleveland; sister, Paulette Fincher.

Funeral services for Mrs. Roberson will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Roberson’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday evening, January 3, 2025, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 

Pallbearers will include Butch Hays, Keith Moss, Howard Haas, Steven Stokes, Robbie McCown, and Rodney McCown.
